About Flockin Ale
What the Flockin Ale is it ?
‘Flockin Ale’ was commissioned to be brewed by local photographer Leanne Bolger. Leanne had the idea to promote her photographic work through the medium of beer labels combining her art with love of real ale. Her famous photograph of a flock of Sheep that has been extremely popular prompted her to come up with ‘Flockin Ale’
The Flockin Ale label designed by Rusty designs displays the photograph of a large group of sheep Leanne took on a misty morning in North Yorkshire and titled the image ‘lead don’t follow’.
Leanne approached friend Dan Tasker director of Bridestones brewery and landlord of the New Delight pub Hebden Bridge to brew the ale. After their first meeting about Flockin Ale over a few pints and discussing taste and recipes and strength, Flockin Ale production went ahead in the following few weeks and the first prototype run of 600 bottles where produced .
